Hey there! I’m Claire and I am living my lifetime dream of being a writer. If I was writing the opening paragraph to the story of my life it would go something like this…
Once upon a time there was a little girl who loved to read. She had a tricky time growing up but eventually became a teacher. Over 20 years she read many, many books to many, many children. With each book she read she dreamed of writing her own stories, stories to help little people believe that they can be who they want to be.
This dream led me to write books for children, books to encourage young minds to not only think outside of the box, but to think like there is no box! Stories to smash stereotypes, stories to demand social justice, stories for representation! My first book was published in 2020 and spent some time at Number 1 on Amazon for its genre, making me a number 1 bestselling author, so I guess you could say my dream came true.
I am also a Widow. A widow who writes. Exploring my grief through writing has been a key part of my life since my husband died in 2015. Much of that writing was just for me, some I shared through my blog and in 2021 my book The Pink Widow was published.
I’m a qualified teacher, a published author and in my ‘day job’, post teaching, as a co-leader of the Resilience Revolution, (yes that’s a real job) I led training, facilitated co-production spaces, used Resilient Therapy, including The Academic Resilience Approach, and Coaching for Success.
I now spend my days writing and encouraging others to write through my courses and workshops.
It makes complete sense to me to take my many skills from life and use them to coach and empower others to fulfil their writing dreams.
